AvareKalu Rotti and GroundNut Chutney | Recipe by Mysuru Foodie

Avare Kalu Rotti

Ingredients:
Rice flour – 2 cup
Onions – 2-3 finely chopped
Green Chilli – 3-4 finely chopped
Avarekaalu – 1cup (cooked in pressure cooker with salt)
Jeera – 1tsp
Coriander leaves and Curry leaves ( Dill Leaves optional )

Steps :
1) Pressure cook Avarekaalu with some salt ( 3-4 whistles )
2) Now add Rice Flour, finely chopped onions, green chilies, Coriander leaves, Avarekaalu, and Jeera
3)Mix well and add water(boiled water of Avarekaalu)
4) Knead softly for a dough consistency.
5) Take a ball sized dough, grease the tawa or kadai(add oil generously as it should not stick to kadai and become golden brown) close a lid and cook until it turns golden brown. Flip it and serve hot

Note: As we are adding salt while boiling AvareKalu, there is no need to add extra salt. You can balance it as per the taste.

Groundnut Chutney
Ingredients:

Ground nuts – 1Cup
Chilli 4-5
Curry leaves
Tamarind
Garlic 2-3 cloves
Salt
Coriander leaves

Steps:
1)Take first 3 ingredients in a pan and saute it lightly for 5 minutes on a medium flame with 1 tsp oil. Let it cool
2)Then add Tamarind, Garlic – 2-3 cloves, Salt, Coriander leaves
3)Grind to your preferred consistency and savour with Rotti.
